Q: How do I purchase and download a song?
A: Simply check the box to the left of the price of each track that you would like to purchase, and click the "Check Out" button.
If you do not already have one, you will be required to create a SNOCAP account. You will then be directed to setup which method you would like to use to pay for your SNOCAP music purchases, either by credit card or through a pre-funded PayPal account. Once you have your SNOCAP account, you will be able to purchase and download songs available for sale in any SNOCAP store.
You will have one final opportunity to review your order and then simply click "Place Order" to purchase the song and initiate the download process.
Q: There is no preview clip available for the track.
A: Currently there are not preview clips available for tracks that are less than one minute in length. We are working on smarter ways to create preview clips for tracks with shorter duration - we know to it helps to preview tracks before you buy.
Q: How can I pay for my purchases?
A: Currently we accept credit cards and pre-funded PayPal accounts for payments.
Q: Do I need to create an account to purchase a song?
A: You are required to create a SNOCAP account with either a credit card or a pre-funded PayPal account before you can make a music purchase from SNOCAP.
Once you have created your account, you will simply need to log in (if you are not already) using your SNOCAP Account email address and password to purchase additional songs.
Q: Do I have to sign up for a PayPal account to purchase music?
A: No, you don’t need a PayPal account to purchase music; you can setup your SNOCAP account with a credit card. You still can sign up for a PayPal if you prefer. Don’t worry though; you don’t have to go searching for this. We have included PayPal sign up in our purchase process for your convenience.
Q: How do I change my funding options with PayPal?
A: Please refer to the PayPal help documentation for specific instructions on how to manage your PayPal payment preferences.
Q: How do I cancel a Pre-Approved Payment billing agreement?
A: Log into your PayPal account on www.paypal.com and follow these steps:
- Click the My Account tab.
- Click the Profile subtab.
- Click the Preapproved Payments link in the Financial Information column.
- Find the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel.
- Click on the merchant's name or email address.
- Click Cancel Agreement.
Q: How do I know if I have been billed for a song purchase?
A: You should receive an email notification confirming your purchase. In addition, if your payment method is through your PayPal account, then log into your PayPal account on www.paypal.com and check in the History tab for a list of all purchases made using your PayPal account. In the “Name/Email/Phone” column locate any activity for SNOCAP Inc. You can see more specific information relating to the transaction by clicking on the “Details” link.
If your payment method is by credit card, inquire with your specific credit card carrier to find out how to check online the purchases you made that were billed to your account.
DRM
Q: What is DRM?
A: DRM, or Digital Rights Management, is a technology that prevents the illegal proliferation and sharing of copyrighted content. It enables the rights holders to control the rights and restrictions regarding their content, and to grant those rights only to consumers who purchased the content. SNOCAP makes use of MSDRM as the primary digital rights management technology for the content sold in SNOCAP WMA Stores.
Q: What is WMA?
A: WMA, or Windows Media Audio, is a file format for audio tracks developed by Microsoft. The particular version of WMA sold within the SNOCAP WMA Store is a version where the audio is protected using encryption technology. WMA tracks bought within the SNOCAP WMA Store are playable on any Windows Media Player version 10 or above.
Q: What is MSDRM?
A: MSDRM is a digital rights management technology made available by Microsoft. The tracks sold in SNOCAP WMA Stores are protected using MSDRM.
Q: What kind of rights and restrictions do the tracks within SNOCAP WMA Store come with?
A: The tracks sold within SNOCAP WMA Store come with the following rights:
- 1.Unlimited play count: You are allowed to play the track an unlimited number of times.
2.10 CD Burns: You are allowed to burn a track a total number of 10 times to a CD.
3.Unlimited Portable device transfer count: You are allowed to transfer a track bought within a SNOCAP WMA Store to a compatible device an unlimited number of times.
Q: What are the requirements of purchasing and downloading tracks from a SNOCAP WMA Store?
A: In order to be able to purchase, download and play WMA files from a SNOCAP Store, your computer must have the following:
- 1.Windows Operating System (Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003)
2.An installed version of the SNOCAP Download Manager.
3.Windows Media Player 10 or above
Q: How can I play WMA tracks?
A: Please use the latest version of the Microsoft Windows Media Player (version 10
or above) to play the WMA file that you downloaded from any SNOCAP WMA Store.
Q: I cannot play the WMA track that I purchased from a SNOCAP Store. What can I do to play the WMA files?
A: The most likely reason why you are unable to play the WMA tracks on your machine is because your SNOCAP cookie is not set. This is supposed to happen during the time you purchased the tracks, via the SNOCAP Download Manager, or any time you log into a SNOCAP WMA Store.
Please follow these steps in order to reset your SNOCAP cookie.
- 1. Please ensure that you have the latest SNOCAP Download Manager installed. The SNOCAP Download Manager can be installed from

2. Log into your SNOCAP account via any SNOCAP WMA Mystore. Here’s one you can use.

Q: Do WMA tracks play on the iPod?
A: No. The WMA tracks may not be transferred to an Apple iPod. However, the WMA tracks are compatible with 80+ players from other manufacturers.
Q: How many times can I transfer a WMA track to a portable device?
A: You may transfer a track downloaded from a SNOCAP WMA Store to a portable device an unlimited number of times.
Q: How many times can I burn a track to CD?
A: You may burn a track bought from a SNOCAP WMA Store a total of 10 times.
Q: How can I back up my WMA licenses?

A: No. The WMA tracks bought from a SNOCAP Store are not compatible with the Apple MAC OS.
Q: Will the WMA tracks purchased from a SNOCAP WMA Store play on Linux machines?
A: No.
Downloading Music
Q: Can I specify where a track is downloaded?
A: Once you have purchased the tracks they will be available for download. Highlight the track that you would like to download and click the "Download Purchased Track" button. A dialog box may appear that allows you to select a folder on your hard drive where you would like your song saved.
It is possible, however, that your browser will automatically save the song to your "My Music" folder or your default media player's library folder. You can always move the song to another folder once it has successfully downloaded.
Q: How do I find the tracks that I downloaded?
A: If you have purchased the track, the entire line that the track is on is italicized in the store. If you do not remember where you saved it on your hard drive, follow the steps listed here to locate it.
- On the Start menu (bottom-left hand corner), click Search.
- Click in the “All Files and folders:” text box.
- Type *.mp3 or *.wma and click Search.
- If any songs are available on your hard drive, they should show up.
Mac OS X users
- From the File menu, choose Find (if using Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, you can alternatively click the Spotlight menu).
- Type mp3 or wma as the search term.
- Click Search (Spotlight automatically searches as you type, and does not have a Search button).
- If any songs are available on your hard drive, they should show up.
Check your Recycle Bin/Trash
Another place to look for errant music files is in your Recycle Bin (Windows) or the Trash (Mac). Hey, you never know! If you find them there, just right-click on them and click “Restore,” or just drag and drop them in your music folder.
Those music files still elusive?If you have a backup, you may use that to replace your songs. If a backup is not available, the music may be lost, in which case you would need to purchase replacement music.
We suggest that you backup your music (as you do with your documents) to prevent this regrettable situation from happening.
Q: What do I do if a track I purchased did not download successfully?
A: If your SNOCAP account is setup with a payment method through a PayPal account, we first suggest that you log in to your PayPal account (www.paypal.com) and check in the History tab to confirm that you have been charged for the transaction. If you do not see the charge in your Purchase History, your purchase did not go through. You will need to click "Check Out" again to purchase the song.
If you have been charged for the purchase, then follow the instructions above to see if you can locate the downloaded music on your computer.
If you still cannot find your tracks on your computer, or if your download has timed out:
- 1. Go to http://www.snocap.com and enter your Music Buyer account login details.
- 2. If you have a Consumer account and an Artist account, click on the Consumer account button.
- 3. Click on the "Transaction History" button (on the left side of the page).
- 4. Click on the name of a track to download it again! If your browser asks you if you would like to open the file or save to disk, make sure to select "save to disk."

At this time, we do not have the capability to sell tracks outside the US. We’re working very hard to expand internationally and offer our service to international artists and consumers, but unfortunately we don’t yet have a timeline regarding this. Keep checking back with us for updates.

Playing Purchased Music
Q: Can I copy my music to a CD?
A: Yes, you can copy it to a CD. If the music you purchased is encoded in mp3 format, you can copy it to a CD as many times as you wish. However, if the music is encoded in wma format, you can only copy it to a CD a limited number of times. You can tell how a track is encoded by looking at the filename. Track names ending with .mp3 are mp3 encoded tracks, while those ending with .wma are wma encoded tracks.
Q: Can I transfer the downloaded songs to a different computer?
A: Yes you can transfer the downloaded song to a different computer.
Q: Can I play downloaded songs on my iPod?
A: Yes, if the tracks are encoded in mp3 format, you should be able to add them to your iTunes library and transfer to your iPod. If the tracks however are encoded in wma format, then you will not be able to add them into your iTunes library nor transfer them to your iPod. You can tell how a track is encoded by looking at the filename. Track names ending with .mp3 are mp3 encoded tracks, while those ending with .wma are wma encoded tracks.
Q: Can I play downloaded tracks while offline?
A: Yes. Once a track is successfully downloaded to your computer you can listen to it offline in exactly the same way that you listen to downloaded music when you are online.
